GOVERNOR’S FORUM SECRETARIAT CONDUCTS SECOND VISIT TO LAGOS SURVEYOR-GENERAL

The Office of the Surveyor-General of Lagos State has again hosted a team from the Nigeria Governors Forum Secretariat, who came to further familiarise themselves with the Geographic Information Systems deployed to agencies of the Lagos State Government.

The team lead, Mr. Olanrewaju Ajogbasile, said the tour was in continuation of a three-day field visit of some agencies of the State Government to learn more about the Geographic Information Systems that have made Lagos excel.

Welcoming the team, the Permanent Secretary/Surveyor-General of Lagos State, Surv. Olutomi Sangowawa, expressed pleasure that the NGF secretariat representatives found it worthy to visit the Office of the Surveyor-General to continue acquiring knowledge on the professionalism deployed by competent professionals in the establishment.

He maintained that the visit confirmed that Lagos State is doing something right that will be useful for other States to foster excellence and better service delivery.

“During the first visit, your team went through the processes, procedures, systems and technology deployed by the OSSG in the daily use of the Geographic Information Systems Unit. I am elated at this second visit, which confirms we are making strides that have become a phenomenon that our colleagues across the country want to identify with and replicate in their various States”, the Permanent Secretary said.

Surv. Sangowawa expressed confidence that the formidable team of professionals in the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) unit will provide more useful information to the team from the NGF Secretariat.

He appreciated the team and promised that the management team and other officials of the Office of the State Surveyor-General would provide further insight into the processes adopted to provide top-notch services to all clients and stakeholders of the Lagos State Government.
