DEMOCRACY DAY CELEBRATION, IDIMOGU HARPS ON YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
Hon Sir (Dr) Jude Chukwuemeka Omobowale Idimogu, The Lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo constituency ll at the Lagos State House of Assembly, has described Nigerian youth as great achievers who are holding their heads
high and greatly proving themselves globally, calling governments at all level to provide enabling environment for the youth to activate their potentials, saying that the Nigerian youth are endowed with all the elements of greatness.
In a statement by his SA on Media and Publicity, Mr Henry Uzodinma, idimogu noted that Nigerian youth are high achievers who are making the country proud, adding that all they need is the opportunities to demonstrate their strength and capabilities.
Idimogu, the Committee Chairman, Wealth Creation and Employment Lagos State, also prayed for peace and security as our great country marks another Democracy-Day today. He further urged Nigerians to always strive to ensure that “our national motto: Unity, Faith, Peace and Progress, is a reality and not just mere rhetoric.”
The Lawmaker further urged leaders to support the youth rather than discourage them, saying: “Rather than discourage them with our words and actions, we as leaders must give our youth hope by using our language to draw out the very best in them.
“What our youth need are opportunities to showcase their positive talents. They need leaders who believed in them and show affirmation for them through their words and actions"
“They youth are already making us proud both locally and internationally. Nigerian youth are showcasing their brilliance around the globe today.
“These youth are the epitome of hardworking, innovative and ambitious who make our nation respected in the comity of nations and give us hope for tomorrow.
"As this year’s Democracy Day is being celebrated amidst party primaries that will usher in general elections, let me seize this opportunity to caution all our youth, especially my constituents to be very careful of ambitious politicians who have no plans for your future not to use you to cause mayhem and chaos during the elections." Idimogu intoned.
