The Lagos Medical Guild and Humanitarian Committee of Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates Association (UNIFEMGA) have donated some Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the management of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja.

Receiving the donated items on behalf of LASUTH, the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo described the gesture as high level of thoughtfulness, stressing that doctors are in urgent need of PPE, being frontline workers in the fight against the ravaging disease in the State.

He commended the Medical Guild and UNIFEMGA for tasking themselves to donate the essential items, which would be useful to health workers in the fight against the spread of the Coronavirus disease in Lagos.

The CMD, therefore, expressed the appreciation of the Hospital Management to the Medical Guild and Students’ Association for their support and humanitarian gesture in lending a helping hand to health workers at this crucial period.

Earlier, the donors noted that the items are a token of their support to the hospital and frontline health workers in their determined efforts to curb the spread of the global pandemic.

Some of the items donated include surgical facemasks, face shields, disposable coats, hydrogen peroxide, hand sanitisers and dispensers, among others.
