Erstwhile Senator representing Kogi West district at the National Assembly, Dino Melaye is indeed a kind man. In ,recent video made available on the social media, the ousted senator who lost his seat to the incumbent senator Smart Adeyemi was seen chatting with five women who hawk banana and other fruits by the road side probably in Abuja.
Melaye allowed the women to narrate their experiences to him as only few of them know him. According to one of the women, she has six kids and due to the lockdown, her husband could not go to work hence, her resolve to assist the home by selling banana on the road side.
Few other gave the same reasons, urging Melaye to help them call on the federal government to soften the lockdown order. In his words, Melaye promised the women to deliver their message to the appropriate quarters but advised them to stay at home adding that their being alive is paramount and more important to them and their loved ones.
He then brought out a bale of crispy 1000 naira notes and gave each woman N10,000. This, according to him is to help them augment their needs pending the partial end of the lockdown on Monday 4th of May.
The women were all happy and appreciative. They however left the roadside immediately, adhering to the advise of the former Kogi’s most colourful but controversial senator
