CHRISTIAN PILGRIMS PRAY FOR LAGOS STATE, NIGERIA

The second batch of Christian Pilgrims to Jerusalem and the Kingdom of Jordan has continued with intercessory prayers for peace to reign in Lagos State and Nigeria, as well as for the wellbeing of individuals and families across the country.

Leading the pilgrims in prayers at Bethlehem, Israel, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Sewedo Oluseyi Whenu, noted that prayer is the master key to unlocking every difficult situation.

Whenu reiterated the need for fervent prayers to sustain the peace Lagos currently enjoys in comparison to other States, urging pilgrims to pray for development and prosperity in the nation.

The Chairman of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB), Rt. Rev. Babatunde Akinpelu-Johnson, also led the pilgrims in intercessory prayers for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his family, praying that God will continue to give him divine wisdom, knowledge and understanding to lead the State on the path of prosperity while also praying for cabinet members and all citizens at large.

On his part, Very. Rev. Ayo Olu Oyadotun, the immediate past Presiding Chaplain, Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, prayed for peace to reign in Nigeria, especially as the country moves closer to electioneering campaigns, stressing that those scheming to destroy the country and make it ungovernable will be exposed.

Also speaking, the Board Secretary of LSCPWB, Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe, urged the pilgrims to continue intercessory prayers even after the exercise, just as she emphasised the need to concentrate more on the spiritual aspect of the exercise than the social.

Present at the early devotion were Oba Owolabi Adeyemi Adeniyi, the Onisabe of Igbobi Sabe; and Oba Folarin Ogunsanwo, Alara of Ilara, Epe; the immediate past Permanent Secretary, Public Service office (PSO), Mr. Samson Ajibade, and Apostle Prof. Alexandra Bamgbola (the immediate past CAN Chairman, Lagos State Chapter) among others.
