Chikun LG poll: PDP chieftain decries low turn out voters in Kaduna

Speaking to DAILY POST in Kaduna on Saturday on the low turn out experienced in most polling units during the chairmanship and councillorship poll in Chikun Local Government Area, the PDP chieftain lamented that the development has shown that Nigerians were no longer interested in the democratic process of electing elective officers to positions in the country.

Bature stressed the need for elective officers to be more caring, responsive and responsible to the electorate for the dividends of democracy to be physically seen by Nigerians.

He added, “It is true that Nigerians are suffering in the hands of those they elected. Insecurity and other problems have become the order of day in the country and all these challenges have frustrated people to spare their time to go and cast their votes on election day.”
