Baruwa explosion: Relocate gas stations, Jandor urges Lagos State Government

The Lagos State Government has been urged to relocate gas stations around the residential areas of the state to reserved areas to avoid risking the lives of Lagosians.

The Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State experienced an early morning explosion which rocked Best Roof Cooking Gas in the Baruwa community on Thursday.

Speaking to press correspondents at the Liberty Place, the state Secretariat of TEAM JANDOR, on Thursday, the initiator of ‘Lagos4Lagos’ movement, Mr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, said “the continuous spate of fire incidents in the state need urgent attention of the Lagos state government and the quickest and most effective safety initiative is to enforce the ban of gas retailing stations within residential areas of the state to avoid future occurrences.”

Jandor, as he is fondly called, equally frowned at the increase of fuel stations in residential areas, saying that with effective policies, the unfortunate incidents are avertable.

While commiserating with the family of the victims, he prayed to God for strength and fortitude to bear their sad loss.
