Dr. Builder Abdulhakeem Odegade, the MD/CEO of AKMODEL GROUPS was the Chairman of the Occasion at the 7th Prestige Excellence Award and Lecture 2023 held last Sunday November 12 at The Civic Center, Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, Victoria Island, Lagos.
In the same vein, the top entrepreneur and leading real estate practitioner received the prestigious REAL ESTATE PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR AWARD.

Dr. Builder Abdulhakeem Odegade, the MD/CEO of AKMODEL GROUPS, is a successful entrepreneur and youth advocate. He was born in Ile Ife and raised in Modakeke Ife, attending Christ Gospel Primary School and The Apostolic Grammar School. Although he didn’t study at his initial choice, Obafemi Awolowo University, he pursued Building Technology at the Federal Polytechnic, Ede. After completing his national service at the Ministry Of Works Alausa, Ikeja – Lagos, he founded AKMODEL GROUPS, consisting of AKMODEL Homes and Properties, AKMODEL Builder Construction Nigeria Limited, and Akmar Farm Investment. Driven by a belief in the lack of honesty and integrity in the real estate industry, Dr. Odegade aims to address the housing deficit by following best practices and inspiring others to do the same. He has received numerous awards, including the 11th PBLA Elitist Media award for Outstanding Company in the Real Estate Sector and recognition from various organizations such as Nigeria Property Merit Award, NYAGGI, Nigeria Institution of Builders in Facilities Management, NAUS, Cement and Concrete Research Group LAUTECH, and the Association of Professional Recruitment Consultants. In 2023, he was honored as West Africa’s Best Real Estate Service Provider, Africa’s Most Promising Real Estate Entrepreneur of the Year, and received the Integrity Business Man of the Year Award. He was also recognized for innovation and reliability in the real estate industry and became a Fellow of the Institute of Criminology and Strategic Studies Nigeria (ICSS).
Dr. Odegade believes that one thing that’s clearly missing in the real estate industry is honesty and integrity. Lots of people go into real estate business for the money and not to proffer housing solution really.
